Pick a registrar first
Three solid options below. The flow is the same: search, buy, then point the domain at your site by changing its two nameservers. Detailed steps follow for each registrar.
Already own a domain?
No need to buy another one or to transfer it, wherever it is (OVH, Ionos, GoDaddy, Gandi, anywhere else). Jump to step 6: you tell me the domain, I prepare its configuration on my side, and you paste two nameserver addresses at your registrar. Your current site and your email keep running the whole time.

No markup, lowest price on most TLDs, world-class DNS included. You need an existing Cloudflare account.

Long-standing French registrar, English UI, transparent pricing. Solid alternative if Cloudflare isn't an option.
Option A — OVH (France)
Open the OVH Domains page
Click the link below to access the domain search page directly.
Open OVH — DomainsSearch for your domain
Type your desired name (e.g. my-business.com) in the search bar. OVH immediately shows availability and suggests alternatives.
Pick the extension
Use .com for international reach, .fr if your audience is in France, or your country TLD (.de, .es, etc.). Count around 12 USD/year for .com.
Create your OVH account
On the login page, click "Create an account". Use your professional email and save your credentials.

Add the domain to cart. Uncheck unnecessary options (hosting, OVH email, we don't need those). Validate and pay.
Only the domain name is needed. Your site is hosted elsewhere, that's part of my service.
Tell me the domain is registered
Send me the exact domain name by email or WhatsApp. Most importantly, tell me if a professional email address already runs on that domain (Google Workspace, OVH, other): that's the one thing we must not break.
On my side, I prepare your domain's configuration at Cloudflare, where your site is hosted, replicating exactly what already exists: email, Google verifications, current site. As long as you change nothing, nothing moves for your visitors.
I send you 2 nameserver addresses
Within 24 hours you receive two lines like these, generated specifically for your domain:

These are the servers that tell the internet where to find your site and your email. They are the only thing you'll have to paste.
Change your 2 nameservers at OVH
In your OVH client area, open your domain then the "DNS servers" tab. Click "Modify DNS servers", pick the external DNS servers option (sometimes labelled "custom configuration"), replace the two existing lines with the ones I sent you, and confirm.
It takes 2 minutes. The change propagates in under an hour usually, 24 hours at most. You touch no other setting.

Client area > Domain names > your-domain.com > DNS servers > Modify DNS servers
If DNSSEC is enabled on your domain, tell me before you confirm: it has to be turned off a few hours earlier, otherwise the domain becomes unreachable.
Confirm it's done
A short message is enough. I check propagation, test that your email still works, then connect the site to your domain.
Option B — Cloudflare Registrar
Buying at Cloudflare works a little differently, so it has its own dedicated step-by-step guide. Register the domain, follow that guide, and you're all set.

Open Gandi Domains
Go to gandi.net, search your domain and pick the available extension you want.
Create your account and register
Sign up with your professional email and complete the purchase. Skip Gandi hosting and email options, we don't need them.
Change the nameservers
Once registered, tell me and I'll send you two nameserver addresses to paste in your domain's DNS settings (Domain > Nameservers > change to external servers). Same 2-minute move as OVH, and you stay the owner.
Tips
- The nameservers are the only setting you touch. The rest of the DNS zone is on me.
- Write down your two previous nameservers before replacing them, that's your rollback.
- Set auto-renew to avoid losing the domain (registrars send email reminders too).
- If your first choice is taken, try a country TLD or add your city.
- Avoid hyphens, they're hard to dictate over the phone.
Frequently asked questions
Which registrar should I pick?
If your business is based in France, OVH is the cheapest for .fr and offers French support. Outside France, Cloudflare Registrar is the best value (at-cost pricing). Gandi is a solid alternative if you prefer a more traditional interface.
Should I also take hosting from the registrar?
No. Your site will be hosted on Cloudflare Pages, that's part of my service. From the registrar, you only need the domain name.
How do I pick a good domain name?
Short, easy to spell over the phone, no hyphens if possible. The sweet spot: your business name followed by .com (or your country TLD).
Do I stay the owner of my domain?
Yes. Changing the nameservers transfers nothing and gives me no access to your registrar account. The domain stays in your name, paid by you, and you are the only one who can renew it, sell it, or put the old settings back. I never have your password.
Will my professional email keep working?
Yes. Before anything changes, I replicate your email settings exactly in the new configuration, and I test sending and receiving right after the switch. Just tell me which addresses run on the domain, that's the first thing I check.
How long does it take, and can my site go down?
Two minutes on your side. Propagation takes under an hour usually, 24 hours at most, and your current site keeps answering meanwhile: visitors see nothing.
What if something goes wrong?
We put your two previous nameservers back in the same place and everything returns to normal within the hour. I write them down before starting, and I recommend you do too. As long as your old site is still running, rollback is immediate.
Why not add you as technical contact instead?
Because at OVH it does nothing useful: the technical contact role gives no access to the nameservers screen. The 2-minute change you make yourself is simpler, faster, and keeps you in control of your domain.
